Burns Night
23 January 2025
We get our 2025 programme of events off to our customary start with a Burns Night show. The ticket price includes haggis, neeps and tatties. The haggis will be accompanied by George Turnbull on the pipes and the haggis will be suitably addressed by Ronald Sandford. Everyone is welcome, nay encouraged, to sing or recite preferably Burns but not essential. Audience numbers are limited to 40 due to the catering involved especially the mashing of the glorious neep. Always a fun night.

John Graham & Jim Jack

Way back in September we had John and Jim booked on the same bill as Forgaitherin' but unfortunately we had to cancel due to our own sound equipment difficulties. This is the promised second attempt. They have a long history together and separately. We can expect an evening of quality musicianship and singing with a rich variety of material. A fun evening instore.

FARA

In celebration of their 10th anniversary, Orkney born folk quartet FARA embark on a whistle-stop tour around the UK in 2025, returning to some of their favourite venues and towns from a decade of touring. Gnoss

Joe Topping
10 July 2025
Described by Sir Tom Jones as “a Weaver of Dreams”, Joe Topping is a folk singer and multi instrumentalist from Liverpool whose singing and guitar playing regularly moves listeners to tears.
His charismatic stage presence and engaging stories have entertained audiences all over the country and all across Europe, including live sessions on BBC Radio 2, ITV television, The National Film Awards and a showcase at SXSW in Texas.

Brooks Williams

Brooks Williams is one of those select few ‘'how on earth does he do it?” artists. He can sing. He can write. And, man oh man, can he play guitar.
Cambridge UK-based, Statesboro, Georgia US-born, admired by both listeners and fellow musicians, Brooks Williams has been a leading light on the acoustic music scene for three decades. FATEA says his performances show “the greatest level of true expertise.”

Flossie Malavialle
11 September 2025
Flossie Malavialle is a French born singer who was based in the North East of England from 2002 to 2019. She has become an accomplished performer playing at folk clubs and festivals all over the UK (and beyond) and supporting acts such as Fairport Convention and Show of Hands. Possibly one of Crail’s favourite performers having played the club and Festival on many occasions. A big welcome back.
Flossie’s powerful yet sensitive rendition of songs combined with her quaint northern twang and humorous banter will no doubt entertain and leave you with a smile.

Having performed their live show in 25 countries, Dallahan have become a veteran touring
outfit and with each album they continue to evolve their sound, as is evident on their latest
studio album, ‘Speak of the Devil’ released in June 2023.

Pete Coe

Pete Coe has had more than 50 years of music making on the English folk scene. His contributions include traditional song research, song writing in traditional style, the founding of several seminal bands (the founder member and visionary force behind The New Victory Band, Bandoggs and Red Shift) plus solo and duo performances, dance calling, recording, field research, local folk activism in Ryburn Three Step and teaching at various levels. Together with his wife, Sue, he received the Gold Badge Award from the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS) in 2016 for their outstanding contributions to folk dance, music or song
